Ciao! Hold Fast To Dreams Sanctuary and Rescue welcomes you to apply to come volunteer with us!

We are an animal sanctuary and horse farm located in the Alessandria region, Italy, right on the border of Piemonte and Liguria. Our sanctuary is home to horses, a mule, a hinny, donkeys, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats. We have a full rescue dog kennel and the majority of our horses are here with us on retirement to live their lives out in our peaceful mountain retreat.

Volunteer duties would include simple chores: box cleaning, grooming horses and dogs, helping with fencing, farm projects etc. The total time spent each day on these chores would amount to no more than three hours, and never more then five days a week.

Socializing with the horses is not mandatory but certainly welcome, and opportunities to ride with us are prevalent for those who would like to (and all skill levels, including no experience at all!).

We welcome your personal pets as well, as long as they are other animal friendly (no chasing anything please), and properly monitored and cleaned up after.

Included with your stay are housing (for long term volunteers without vans), covered standing with van hookups, access to toilet, shower, laundry, kitchen, fibre optic Wi-Fi, and free use of the community area in the house or aparatment. In addition, we offer fun activities for all volunteers and guests, including: riding lessons, yoga, wine o’clock, hiking, dogs walks, trips to local fairs and festivals, and weekly trips to the nearest town for groceries or other supplies.

For those that just need a place to park up but prefer not to volunteer, that’s okay too! We charge €5 per night to cover the utility costs, and you are welcome to stay as long as you like! Opportunities to ride or join our other activities are also still available. We are on Park4Night as well!
