Sette's Story

Sette is a sweet and spirited blue-nose Pit Bull mix with a big personality and even bigger heart. At just 2 years old and 15kg, she’s full of life, energy, and love. But her road to safety hasn’t been an easy one.

Sette came to us through a special connection. She was originally adopted by an American service family who believed she would be the perfect companion for their children and cats. Sadly, things didn’t go as hoped. Despite their love for her, Sette wasn’t the right fit for their household. She was not safe around their young children or their cats, and after a heartbreaking incident in which she took the life of one of their Ragdolls, the family made the incredibly difficult decision to seek help.

That’s when we stepped in.

They reached out to us, desperate to find a safe alternative to euthanasia or a stressful shelter environment. Under normal circumstances, we wouldn’t have been able to take her. But Sette’s story was different. Travis, one of our team members, has a special place in his heart for blue-nose Pit Bulls, and this family had previously adopted from us and shown true compassion and responsibility. 

After careful consideration, we welcomed Sette into our sanctuary.

Now safe at Hold Fast to Dreams, Sette has blossomed. She’s formed a strong bond with any volunteer that foster her and plays happily with her sanctuary housemate, Frito.

While she cannot live with other animals or young children, she is incredibly affectionate with her trusted humans and thrives in a stable, loving environment.

Sette needs an experienced, active adopter who understands her limitations and can offer her the guidance, structure, and affection she craves. She would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home, ideally with someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as she does. Whether it's hiking, long walks, or exploring the countryside, Sette will be your most loyal adventure partner.
